TurboGears is a Python-based web-development framework. Version 1.0.7 was released on Sep 15, 2008. It is designed as integration code combining several well established separate projects for the components: SQLAlchemy/SQLObject for the data backend Genshi/Kid for the templates, CherryPy for the controller and MochiKit for Ajax. According to critics, this philosophy comes at the price of extra overhead and longer learning curve compared to other frameworks, such as Django.
