Dr. Gerhart is a sound doctor, whom, prior to meeting Muriel Bagge, was lonely, thanks to his enchanted house. He had created a type of music that would bring his house to life, to have a friend, but instead got an angry home who didn't let him have neighbors. When Dr. Gerhart met Muriel, the two became fast friends. Soon, Dr. Gerhart's home became jealous and attacked the Bagge home. Courage retaliated by repairing the house, thus calming the then angry home. In the end, a whole neighborhood started springing up, giving the Bagges and Gerhart even more neighbors. His character design is modeled after Roy Orbison.
