The option permits Warner Bros. to adapt any of the Shannara or pre-Shannara novels including Armageddon's Children, The Elves of Cintra, but not the Word/Void books. Right now the studio is most interested in adapting The Elfstones of Shannara. Warner Bros. has bought a The Elfstones of Shannara script adapted by fantasy writer and Shannara fan Eldon Thompson. The script will be used as the starting point.
