The Abyss Worm is an enemy in the Dawn of Souls and succeeding versions of the original Final Fantasy, meant to be this game's version of the stronger species introduced in Final Fantasy II. Found in the bonus Earthgift Shrine dungeon, it possesses the highest HP of any non-boss enemy within the game. Abyss Worms are only encountered in the open desert level, appearing either as a single enemy or a pair.
