Markhamn is the capital city of Vingarmark. With a population of 1.7 million people in the metro area, Markhamn is the largest city in Vingarmark and the cultural, political, and alongside with Vingeborg, the commercial center of the country. Markhamn is located on the north coast of Vingarmark, by the Markhamn archipelago. The central part of the city is built on more than a dozen of islands. The metro area is surrounded by wooded hills and mountain to the west, and a river valley to the south.
