Apter wrote several episodes of the daytime drama series Ryan's Hope between 1981 and 1982, starring Kate Mulgrew and Daniel Hugh Kelly. For this work he received a Daytime Emmy Award in the category Outstanding Writing for a Daytime Drama Series in 1983. More recently, Apter worked as associate producer on the drama Nosso Lar (2010).
