Prior to joining H.A.M., William was a resident of eastern Lumbridge. However, slightly before Year 169 of the Fifth Age, a goblin raiding party attacked the cottages on the east side of the River Lum in the Battle of East Lumbridge. William's home was amongst those attacked; his entire family was slain and his home was destroyed. Seeking revenge, he joined H.A.M. William was killed in the Assault on Sigmund's Base, either by goblin soldiers or in the ensuing cave-in.
