He started out with the junior Medicine Hat Tigers and Yorkton Terriers from 1953-56. Turning pro in 1956, he was stuck in the minor pros until 1967. Both the New York Rangers and Chicago Black Hawks owned his rights for a time but neither brought him up to the NHL. In 1967 he was called up by the Toronto Maple Leafs for three games of the Stanley Cup final. This got his name on the Cup. The following season he played for the Minnesota North Stars but he only played in 54 games in 1967-68 and 1968-69. He finished off his career in the Western Hockey League, retiring in 1973.
