MEST is an acronym for Matter, Energy, Space and Time. In Scientology it's a synonym for the material universe, i.e. MEST Universe. MEST is considered to be complementary to Theta, the MEST Universe complementary to the Theta Universe. Life is composed of theta and MEST, the theta animating the MEST.
