Maria-Star Cooper is a full-blooded werewolf in "The Southern Vampire Mysteries". A packmember of the pack of wolves out of Shreveport, Louisiana, Maria worked as an assistant to a were photographer. She is first introduced in the fourth book, Dead to the World, when Maria-Star, in wolf form, gets injured in an attack by the witch coven. Sookie takes Maria-Star to the hospital. This character appears in subsequent novels, and becomes Alcide s girlfriend, though she is brutally murdered in the eighth book, From Dead to Worse .
