This armor sandwiches thin layers of ablative and spun fiber armor to provide maximum protection against both coherent beam and slug weapons. It does both jobs well, but neither as well as a purely specialized armor. Mk.1 Battle Armour was used by the Confederate Army, but after 17 ABY it became widely available to companies and governments. The helmet features a short-range comlink with a range of roughly 20 kilometers, ultraviolet and infrared spectrum scopes, terrain mapping, IFF indicator, and radar tracking.
