Spanla was a Vulcan Starfleet crewmember assigned to the refit USS Enterprise in the 2270s as a nurse. Commander Spock speculated to Technician T'Hesh that Spanla or T'Khuln would be able to help him with his difficulties meditating. Spanla later sent a message to Commissioner Soreth informing him about Spock's recent acceptance of emotion. (TOS novel: Ex Machina) Spanla is identified as the Vulcan science crewman attending the briefing on the recreation deck played by Scott Dweck in The Motion Picture.
