An energy purse seine was a method for collecting Corusca Stones. Five kilometers long and made of flexsteel cables, it was deployed by a trawler's skiffs and then dragged behind the trawler. The fishermen in the skiffs monitored the pulse of energy which arced across the mesh to detect solid matter caught within the net.
