During a brief gunfight with the Mogadorians at Sanderson's hotel, Murray is shot in the throat and healed by John. This is filmed and later posted on the internet by Sarah Hart as part of the anti-Mogadorian propaganda posted by 'They Walk Among Us'. Murray survives the battle with Setrákus Ra, at the United Nations, and the fall of the city and makes it to the safe-zone military encampment in Brooklyn. He accompanies John to Liberty Island to meet Five and is later faced with The Hunter.
