Corpet was a Lyorn nobleman during the ninth cycle. Forced from his lands to the west, which are still known as Corpet County, he financed an expedition to settle the area that later became the Duchy of Arylle; which, at the time, was only being exploited for its coal resources. Corpet chose to name the region (then only a county) after the Dzurlord who led his expedition, Arylle. Later, his daughter, Corpet the Younger, aided the Empire against a rebel faction, and the county of Arylle was raised to a duchy.
