Ashanté Phiri was female human in the 24th century. A native of Cestus III, she was short, dark-skinned woman who wore her hair in waist-length braids. Phiri worked as an intern on Nanietta Bacco's campaign for representative of Pike City's Fifth District, during which time she met and began her relationship with Fred MacDougan. After ten years of working together, the two married, after a strong push from Bacco. After the death of Esperanza Piñiero in 2384, Phiri became President Bacco's new Chief of Staff.
