Rey Santiago was the newest person to receive a GEAR (Genetically Enhancing Atomic Robots) infusion and become the Black Gear Ranger. Rey's GEAR is based on Lion DNA and gives him invulnerability. His GEAR was also designed using SECTOR (Synaptic Enhancing Cortical Optimizing Robots) programming and it allows him to mimic the GEAR abilities of his fellow Rangers.
