The florist's delivery boy delivered a bouquet of roses to the Rovers Return in April 1988, addressed to "the beautiful blonde behind the bar". Bet Gilroy took this to mean her but when Alec was none the wiser, she read the card and discovered they were actually for Gloria Todd, from an anonymous sender. Mike Baldwin later admitted to sending the flowers by way of apology for two-timing her with Linda Farrell. Credited as "Delivery Boy"
