Seventeen years after Emergence Day, Beckman was stationed at Anvil Gate, a fort under the command of Col. Victor Hoffman. In the final moments leading up to the detonation of the Imulsion Countermeasure Weapon, the fort was attacked by a large Locust force, and Beckman was killed during the assault.
