Beck to destroy an Occupation-manned energy drill which had been causing power blackouts in Argon City before its destructive power could destabilize the Grid. Meanwhile, Zed had been convinced by Bartik and Hopper to enter his custom light light cycle in the Argon Race, which was to take place in the tunnels below the drill-site. Upon realizing that the drill's destruction would mean his best friend and multiple other programs meeting their doom in the tunnels, Beck, in his guise as the Renegade, blocked the race route to stop them, but was forced to steal Zed's bike to pursue Paige when she learned of the plot against the drill.
