Prior to her death, Col. Komananov had been caricatured in a "tawdry" British spy novel as a "slinky femme fatale", much to her chagrin. (TOS novel: The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh, Volume 1) This novel and her caricature were used, centuries later, by Julian Bashir's friend Felix in a secret agent holoprogam. In 2372, the transporter pattern of Kira Nerys was temporarily merged with this hologram leading to the Bajoran major's image being used for Komananov's likeness. (DS9 episode: "Our Man Bashir")
