Kochoff was born in Los Angeles County, California and is the older sister of screenwriter Anya Kochoff. Beside her appearances and work on Star Trek, Kochoff had supporting roles in Leonard Nimoy's comedy Funny About Love (1990, with Freda Foh Shen, Paul Collins, Andrew Hill Newman, Michael Bofshever, Celeste Yarnall, and Michael Snyder) and Dan Aykroyd's comedy Nothing But Trouble (1991, with Bertila Damas).
