Tuzes-Adaz was a female Nelvaanian and chieftain of the village Rokrul on the Outer Rim planet Nelvaan during the final years of the Galactic Republic. During the Clone Wars between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Techno Union established a facility on Nelvaan that drained the planet of geothermal energy. The resulting environmental shift alarmed Tuzes-Adaz and her fellow Nelvaanians, who blamed the changes on an illness plaguing the Great Mother, the deity that the villagers honored. When the chieftain discovered the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker after the two interrupted her son's initiation ritual, she brought them back to Rokrul to meet the shaman Orvos, who had prophesied that an offworlder would visit and bring the Great Mother back to health.
