Alexis Notte studied molecular chemistry and liquid crystals at Oxford University and whilst studying designed a polymer loom. The RlCb30 consructor or Resistable light and Compactable Barrier constructor and later the RlCbL13. These complex polymer looms allowed mass produced polymer based products to be produced, including aircraft parts, low friction joints and large water pipes. After failing to recieve grant money to continue his work Notte decided to take his product to the comercial market. At first approaching glazing and aerospace companies and failing to recieve any significant interest, Notte decided to enter the police force and "leave all ideas that even had anything remotely to do with chemistry well alone".
