Georg Kleinschmidt was a German merchant who brought the first shipment of nails and spikes to Grantville after the Ring of Fire. Realizing the economic potential in the time-displaced American town and seeing the massive amount of wood construction going up, Kleinschmidt cheerfully abandoned trade and sank his new small fortune into building a nail factory with his new business partner Keith Trumble, an American car dealer.
