Tables are convenient structures for displaying tabulated data. The wiki core table function was designed to ease their coding without the need for the verbosity associated with HTML. Most wiki sites will recommend the usage of wikitext over HTML. A table has a rich set of properties that allow the coder to present them in a plethora of ways. However, a continuing trend has been to use cascading style sheets (CSS) instead to format their look and feel. It's an age-old debate on which is better. Now on with the show.
