The redbutton sissy strap was a name given to a device designed by the Chadra-Fan T'achak T'andar. A safety device, it was usually a belt or restraint designed to keep a pilot in the seat of a moving vehicle, but with an explosive charge link to it. In times of emergency, T'andar could trigger the explosive device to throw himself clear of an impending crash.
