Kurpol was the capital city of the planet Tenkara. It was located in a fertile river valley, and divided into a number of distinct districts, including ones for river transport, industrial manufacturing, commercial enterprise, and residential areas of varied economic levels. "Fort Fed," a Starfleet security outpost, was located on the outskirts of the city in the mid-2260s. It was during a mission from Fort Fed to Kurpol in 2267 that Starfleet forces were attacked and Dr. Leonard McCoy kidnapped by dissident Tenkarans. (TOS short story: "Official Record")
