The village woman was a dirt farmer, married to her husband for 42 years. A few years back the Dirt Blight wiped out their dirt crops and never recovered. Eventually her husband was captured by Ogres. Luckily she saw Miko leading the Order of the Stick to Azure City and sought for their help. Eventually her husband was brought back but the Order saw that with their relationship as it was, his rescue was not a "good deed" as they believed.
