Colederran fer Toren was a member of House Toren before he was disowned by his father, Duke Vedris IV of Emelan. He was originally his father's heir before he was disowned. Nothing is known for why he was disowned, and he never appeared in the books. He has only been mentioned by Tamora Pierce on her Tumblr blog. According to the blog, he works as a caravan guard in the north. Vedris, who does not want Lord Franzen, one of his other sons, to inherit the duchy, wants to send a very close ally to fetch Colederran from the north. It is assumed that it will be Sandrilene fa Toren and one or more of her foster-siblings.
