501st: A Legion at War was a live action docudrama that showed the exploits of the 501st Legion of clone troopers, from its inception during the Battle of Geonosis to its dissolution at the Battle of Endor. It had episodes for all the publicized missions and campaigns the Five Hundred and First fought in or contributed to, and it was largely responsible for bringing the legion it's share of fame and infamy. An unidentified retired clone trooper, who was discharged from the legion after serving it from the Battle of Geonosis to the Battle of Hoth, was the narrator of the docudrama, shortly after which he passed away, while an ensemble cast played the characters to the best of their ability, with about five thousand extras playing the clones and stormtroopers.
