Darwin Sandstrom is a former NASCAR driver. He attempted the 1972 Daytona 500, but failed to make the race and be credited with making a NASCAR start. However, Sandstrom did compete in the qualifier event. Engine issues left him 28th and thereby eliminated his chances of making the 500. Stats
