The Range Shield is a defensive for the Assault class. It is one of three default Off-Hands available to new Assault agents. Activating the Range Shield creates a barrier around the Assault that absorbs a set amount of incoming 'Ranged' damage. It can help an Assault survive large amounts of incoming fire while the team's Medic recharges Power, or when the Assault is unable to avoid a lethal burst in time (such as a group of Alarm Responders spawning in during a boss fight).
