Muffet's attacks are themed on spiders, baked goods, and her pet. The battle takes place mostly in Purple Mode. Muffet may be spared by waiting or consuming a spider item. She does not fight if an item was bought at the Spider Bake Sale in Hotland and then used during the battle.
