[Source] Collision avoidance systems, also known as collision alarms, were a type of safety device hardwired into a vehicle to alert the operator of an imminent impact. The devices were common in most vehicles; though they were banned from being incorporated into Podracers in many race series. Frowned upon by veteran racers, they were often times referred to derisively as "electronic nannies." They were also used in Adumari starfighters.
