PC Pullen was one of two Police officers sent to Coronation Street in February 2003 to arrest Ciaran McCarthy for being AWOL from his post with the Royal Navy. They first called at Peter Barlow’s flat but his worried ex-shipmate denied all knowledge of his whereabouts. They then called into the Rovers where Peter’s fiancé, Shelley Unwin, who disliked Ciaran because he had made an unwanted pass at her, helpfully pointed him out. He ran out of the premises but the police gave chase and quickly apprehended him, driving him away in their car after a struggle.
