The 2006 UAW-Ford 500 was a Nextel Cup event held at Talladega Superspeedway on October 8, 2006. While trying to push teammate Jimmie Johnson past leader Dale Earnhardt, Jr on the last lap, Brian Vickers accidently wrecked them both. But, since he was leading, he decided to hang on for his first career victory. Needless to say, the boos that accompanied the win from Earnhardt's fan ruined the prestige a little for the young driver. Stats
