The Large Magellanic Cloud is a galaxy, sometimes considered to be a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way, based on theoretical tidal affects exchanged between the two. It has been theorized to orbit or move at a distance of 179,000 light-years from our galaxy. From Sol, the Large Magellanic Cloud is faintly visible in the constellations of Dorado and Mensa.
