Otomo Morikata was the youngest brother of Imperial Governor of the Colonies Otomo Suikihime's two brothers. They had a younger sister, Otomo Nami. She appointed him as their brother Otomo Takama as Ivory Chancellors, to guide all court proceedings in the Ivory Court in her absence.
