Misamoto Toranaga was a member of the Council of Regents in Remonton during the Great War. He participated in a coup which included lords Shingen Akechi and Hideyoshi Ofuchi whose purpose was to install Ofuchi as the new tairo of the council and promote the cause of the sonno-joi. He was captured in the First Battle of Remonton but was later freed in the aftermath of the Cataclysm. Toranaga and Akechi showed up a decade later in the Battle of Hephaisteion where they and their followers assisted the Resistance against the Southern Horde.
