The Devil Hound is an enemy in the Dawn of Souls and succeeding versions of the original Final Fantasy. It is a relatively weak enemy, and despite its appearance, is not of the Fire element. In the Hellfire Chasm, Devil Hounds are only found on the "Lava Temple" level, usually in groups of four. In the Whisperwind Cove, they are encountered in the lava-filled levels. Devil Hounds are black palette swaps of their canine cousins.
