The Mortal Realm is the realm in which all non-magical creatures reside. It was once the peaceful home to magical and non-magical creatures, but the non-magical creatures were frightened by the magical creatures and offensively impersonated them on the holiday of Halloween. It caused the creation of Halloweentown and the separation between the two worlds There are some non-mortals that still reside in the Mortal Realm, such as Gwen Piper, who is a witch. There is a portal between the Mortal Realm and Halloweentown, however. At one time it only opened at Halloween and closed once the day was done, but thanks to a witch known as Marnie Piper, the portal permanately remained open.
