Thanks to solar destruction a new weapons technology has emerged. The solar cannon is an incomparable weapon which can penetrate the ship's armor without resistance. However, its range and accuracy are not very high, because the beam can be marginally deflected by solar radiation. Therefore, it is mostly used on the shadow side of the planet for reasons of efficiency.
