The Honduran white bat (Ectophylla alba) is a kind of bat which can be found in Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama and Nicaragua. It is part of the Phyllostomatidae family of bats. It has snow white fur and a yellow nose and ears. It feeds on fruit. It is most well known for creating shelters/tents out of large leaves in the forests in which it lives. It bites around the middle of the leaf, causing the sides to fall down, which creates the aforementioned tent. It only really takes flight when its tent sustains major damage, so it is rarely seen in flight.
