During the Clone Wars, Karkaris was aligned with the Confederacy of Independent Systems.[4] The Karkarodons, the planet's native species, developed the Hydroid Medusa bio-weapons on their homeworld. These biomechanical monsters were later shipped to Mon Cala to participate in a battle between the Mon Calamari and the Quarren.
