Koonce and Wiemers wrote for television animation together beginning in the mid-eighties, on Galaxy High School, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, and The Wuzzles. They moved on to The Smurfs, Alvin and the Chipmunks, and Popeye and Son. They wrote scripts and served as story editors for the Disney Afternoon series DuckTales, Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, and TaleSpin. Their last credits as partners included work on The Legend of Tarzan and Clifford the Big Red Dog. On his own or with other partners, Koonce wrote for Hercules and Krypto the Superdog.
