The Suadi-Sahara Causeway is construction project, that will link Eastern Sahara to Saudi Arabia once completed in January 2013, it began construction in 2009. The project is estimated to cost around 4 Billion US Dollars, and is mostly financed by Saudi Investment conglomerates, and the East Saharan government and private companies. Once completed the causeway will consist of a causeway and a bridge, and will connect the Sinai Peninsula to Saudi Arabia across the Tiran Straight, at the entrance to the Gulf of Aqaba. The causeway will pass through Tiran Island.
