The Protagonist is a human whose name and gender can be chosen by the player. On June 15, the Protagonist enters the computer room, wondering about the rumors of "mysterious monsters from computers" that fight alongside humans, wanting to see them with their own eyes, and decides to look on the Internet. The Protagonist finds about "Digital Monsters" and sees an image of another world, showing an [[Agumon ()|Agumon]], a Gaomon, and a Lalamon. The kid then receives an e-mail asking if they want to open the door to the [[Digital World ()|Digital World]], and accepts, being dragged to inside the computer.
