The Jughead Comic Book Magazine Series is a spinoff from Archie Comics, featuring Archie Andrews's best friend Jughead in his own stories. Jughead first appeared in Pep Comics #22 in 1941 (also Archie's first appearance) and later grew into his own title Archie's Pal Jughead Comics in 1949. Archie and friends would also guest-star. Common story themes are Jughead's insatiable appetite for hamburgers, avoiding Big Ethel who has a crush on him and outsmarting his nemesis Reggie Mantle. A one-shot titled Jughead's Folly was published in 1957 and features Jughead as Elvis. It is one of the rarest of all Archie comics and is popular due to the Elvis reference.
