Greatswords are two-handed melee weapons. Like their longsword counterparts, the greatswords do a large amount of damage, but score low in their critical strike and armor penetration values. As is customary with two-handed weapons, the swing speed is slower than their one-handed counterparts, and you cannot hold a shield in your off-hand for extra defense.
